Who we are

Care Bridge is the Durham Region PSW Cooperative Developed BY WMRCC (Women’s Multicultural Resource and Counselling Centre), We are worker-owned organization made up of 17 trained and caring Personal Support Workers (PSWs). Together, we provide high-quality, compassionate support services to seniors, people with disabilities, and families across the Durham Region.

As a cooperative, every member is both a worker and an owner. This means we all share responsibility, make decisions together, and are equally invested in the success of our clients and our community. Unlike traditional agencies, we are motivated not by profit, but by care, fairness, and community well-being.

Our Story

Our cooperative was created by a group of PSWs, most of whom are immigrant women of color with rich cultural backgrounds and years of experience in caregiving. We came together to build something better—not only for ourselves, but also for the people who depend on us.

We believe that by working together as owners, we can raise the standard of care, empower workers, and strengthen our community.
